Scholarships

We offer different scholarship formats:

Artist House Fellowships. With the help of various funders, we offer self-initiated, theme-centered grants and projects each year, each of which is advertised on the homepage under News and announced in the newsletter and on Instagram. Annual grant MWK Lower Saxony Every year, artists from Lower Saxony who have applied to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and received an annual scholarship can spend part of their scholarship period in Worpswede. They will be provided with studios at the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede for their working stay. These are artists from the fields of visual arts, music/composition and literature. More information - also about the application modalities - can be found here. Applications for the MWK grants are handled exclusively by the Ministry.

Cooperations

• "Change of scenery - A German-Czech literary exchange". In cooperation with the Literaturhaus Bremen, one scholarship holder of the literary exchange "Tapetenwechsel" is a guest in the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede every year. The program is realized by the virtual Literaturhaus Bremen, globale e.V., the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede, the Czech Literary Center (section of the Moravian National Library) and the German-Czech Future Fund. Applications are open to authors from Germany who already have publications to their name. • BBK short-term scholarships For the first time in 2021, the BBK Bremen (Bremer Verband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler e.V.), in cooperation with the artists' houses, has announced short-term scholarships, for which both younger and older visual artists, with or without children, could apply.
